I did a test online. You can do the same test here. I found it very interesting. After answering a series of questions about how I like to teach, what information I like my students to receive, how I deal with students and lesson planning, it was able to tell me what it thinks my teaching philosophy was. As it turns out I had nothing that was hugely overpowering, and nothing too under powering between all the teaching styles. In the graph below you can see that Progressive is my leading teaching philosophy and Radical is my least executed philosophy.

I took some snapshots of my top 3 philosophy’s of teaching and here are some points that the website makes about them.

I must say that this is on point for how I am and it’s coincidentally amazing that it’s the type of teaching I am lucky enough to illicit. As it turns out, me in a political science classroom or a philosophy teacher. I don’t see the value in those conversations and I don’t choose to teach like that. I like doing the nuts and bolts of a persons spirit. Giving them real life lessons, guiding learners, knowing everybody has amazing unique potential, helping them understand there role in being a productive member of society while helping my students be active in their quest for knowledge. I am very happy this was included in our coursework because it was great to see that I am indeed in the right profession for myself and the students.
